Church leaders travelled with MAF to be part of an inspiring conference that brought believers together in the south-east of Liberia.
An Assemblies of God gathering in Liberia has put the focus on building the local church for growth in the 21st century.
Rev Emmanuel K Zabay Sr. who is on the church’s National Assembly, flew with special guests on a MAF flight from Monrovia to attend the conference in Harper.
The AOG District Superintendent said the successful conference aligned well with MAF’s mission of bringing help, hope and healing to Liberia.
“One key word in MAF’s mission ‘healing’ - I love the phrase healing,” he said.
“Healing comes through physical health and that of the Holy Spirit. With MAF we are healing people through the gospel it brings happiness to our heart to spread the gospel through the dream of partnership.

“I noticed spiritual healing during our time of ministering, we pray for the sick and testimonies came in and people got instant healing.
“Two of our local pastors, Ernest Moore and James Doe who had a chronic fewer went for the conference but they felt sick. The church prays and they both completed the conference.”
Rev Zabay said local churches are having a great impact in their communities, helping to improve opportunities for the next generation.
“The local churches are doing a great work in the rural areas, our organization is also involved in building schools in the isolated areas,” he said.
“We want to build the minds of our future generation who are unable to walk a long distance to achieve quality education.
“Currently as I speak, we have established schools in majority of the rural areas and the schools are not far away from home, children are now attending close to home.”
If church leaders and conference speakers had not been able to reach the conference in the 1 hour 30 minute flight, the drive from Monrovia would potentially have taken three days during the dry season.
“MAF Liberia service is fast and safe, we rely on MAF service for help and we enjoy the quick response from the team,” Rev Zabay added. “The light is shining in dark places because of MAF’s vision.
“The trip was wonderful, MAF did extremely well flying our international guest in the southeast and the most amazing moment, we arrived on Tuesday, and we started our conference immediately!
“We had huge attendance from all over the villages.
“Because of MAF Liberia’s flight the conference went well and the communities’ dwellers were pleased to have us preaching God’s words.”
The light is shining in dark places because of MAF’s vision.
Rev Zabay said lives were changed at the event, thanks to a powerful move of the Holy Spirit.
“On Saturday the local church baptised 26 persons, the sermon was just awesome, and the choir sang perfectly,” he said.
“During the conference there were a huge move of the Holy Spirit of God, to the extent that people were baptised by water and in through the Holy Spirit our conference was a success, through MAF the Assemblies of God church were able to spread the gospel in just 1hour 30mins.
“When people receive Jesus as their Lord and Saviour in our ministry, they make conversion and the local leaders lead them to be baptise, after baptism the local ministry lead them into discipleship.”
