Peterson plays the drums in his local church in Monrovia, but his job as a Logistics Officer also requires skill and timing. He shares his passion for helping isolated communities.

I am Peterson K. Kaye, Logistics Officer for MAF. I got to know about MAF through a friend who told me about the vacancy. I was impressed to join the MAF family.

I look after the airport visa process, deliver and deposit cheques, resident permits, business registrations, and work permits with the Labour Ministry.

I love the role; it requires patience and more energy to keep running after these documents.

Our country Liberia has a lack of roads. In the past, travelling to isolated places was a challenge for many NGOs who had a passion to serve the citizens in remote villages. In most rural parts of Liberia, travelling is very difficult, health is at risk.

MAF flights make travel accessible and easy. I appreciate the work MAF is doing to help partners fulfil their dreams in terms of education, health and spreading the Gospel.

Since I joined MAF, I have seen great changes in many organisations, MAF’s impact in Liberia is very impressive

It helps in multiple ways, with the seasonal, geographical issues we face in Liberia. In the rainy season, travel is dangerous, travelling by road during the wet season can take a week but, with MAF, it is just 1 hour 30 minutes.

Being a part of the organisation for a year is a good experience. The environment is very professional and welcoming, the staff are friendly, caring, and amazing, the team is very small, but the love is unique.

I have had an opportunity to travel with a MAF flight in October 2023. I had a good experience, though I was frightened from the beginning because it was my very first time doing air travel. I felt relieved when we landed in Voinjama (in the north of Liberia).

I do appreciate the management affording staff access to flying.

In my past area of work, I worked with Mary’s Meals, a Scottish charity organisation. The entity is involved in school feeding in both rural and urban areas.

I served as feeding officer, working with 20 schools in the rural areas, and later moving to the capital Monrovia, where I worked with 15 schools.

It’s something that I had a passion for - serving communities and society. Most especially in Liberia, there are lots of parents who can’t afford to provide breakfast or recess food for their kids before going to school. Having such an amazing organisation working in Liberia to empower students to achieve quality education makes our future generation’s lives better. It helps them to focus well in class.

I am a Christian, I served in many roles in the church, I served as church secretary, drummer and currently I am the Young Adult President. I have been occupying the position for the past five years. I love working for God and inspiring the younger ones.

Currently, I am the lead drummer. I have a passion for beating the drum, it is the gift that God has blessed me with. I am grateful to God.
